Churches
Sports is one of the greatest outreach tools in our culture today. Most churches though are unable to harness this valuable resource because they do not have the staff or the time to embrace it. At the same time, there are members of their church who love sports and would be thrilled to find a way to combine their love of sports and their devotion to the Lord in a form of service. We have a solution!
Outreach Sports' mission is to Share the Good News of Jesus Christ through Sports! We aim to do this by serving local churches as a sports hub so that they in turn can have an effective sports ministry at their church utilizing volunteers. We provide training and ministry centered tournaments and events so that churches can outreach and fellowship through sports.
Please see the video and diagram below for more details about how we aim to accomplish this mission. You can contact us with questions or schedule a free consultation on how you can start up or strenthen the sports ministry at your church.

How it Works

STRATEGIES
Step 1 – Coaches’ Circle
A monthly meeting between “coaches”, as described above, forming a coalition of churches that work together towards a common goal: to utilize sports tournaments and events for church outreach and fellowship. At these meetings, leadership and discipleship training take place. The coach is prepared to build and lead a team, and oversee a sports ministry in their church.
Step 2 – Tournaments/Events
Tournaments and events are structured so that maximum ministry impact can be made throughout the day. Some of these efforts include prayer prior to each game, a short devotional at mid-day, down-time between games for teams to build relationships among their members, and an invitation to their coaches’ church on Sunday. In an effort to increase the outreach to fans, all fan names are collected and prize drawings are held at the time of the devotional.
Step 3 – Newsletters
All willing event participants will receive a quarterly newsletter containing Upcoming Events and Devotional content presented through sport-related stories.
Step 4 – Training Tables (Discipleship & Leadership Training)
Training Tables are Bible Studies and Training Sessions designed to be an initial point of fellowship and discipleship for the event participants who are seeking a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. Outreach Sports' goal is to connect participants with a local church home where their spiritual needs can be met on a long term basis. |
